Wincro Frame Cramps

Wincro manufactures a comprehensive range of stainless steel frame cramps for fixing to concrete, steel and masonry.

Available with holed or slotted upstands, safety or plain ends, drip indents, twists or wire ends, Wincro can produce a frame cramp to suit any construction detail.

Wincro’s standard WTS2U frame cramp has two outer 6mm diameter holes and one central 7mm diameter hole (see image below). Alternative upstands are available, including a slotted version (E) with an 8mm x 30mm vertical slot and a plain upstand for shot firing (X).

Fixing Frame Cramps

Different methods are recommended for use when fixing to concrete, structural steelwork or masonry.

When Frame Cramps are fixed to concrete, the following is recommended:

  • Use a WBEB M6 Expansion Bolt through the 7mm diameter central hole, or use WBPS plug and screw using either the 7mm diameter central hole or the outer 6mm diameter holes.
  • When Frame Cramps to masonry, use the WBPS plug and screw.

When fixing frame cramps to steelwork, we recommend the following:

  • Use a WBSD Self Drilling Self Tapping Screw with integral Neoprene Isolation Washer and a WIP Neoprene Isolating Patch between the frame cramp and the steel section. This fixing method eliminates the possibility of bi-metallic corrosion.
Performance

Wincro recommends large plate washers (WBPW) should be used as this increases the tensile load capacity of frame cramps.

For guidance, a Wincro WTS2E Frame Cramp will achieve a safe working load of approximately 1kN when fixed at the lowest point of the slot. For more information, please contact our Technical Design Team.
