Wincro Design Manager Takes on Bricklaying Course

Wincro’s Design Manager Chris Allott has taken on a bricklaying course to gain first-hand experience of how the guys on site operate to aid in development of Wincro products.

This is all undertaken at the Construction and Design centre, at the Kier site in Sheffield, the training centre works closely with Sheffield city council, Kier and other major companies for their training needs and apprenticeships.

Whilst Chris was on the course Wincro supplied free training materials, products examples and Type 2 Cavity Wall Ties (WT2), for use by the trainees.

Wincro believe it is extremely important that the next generation of Bricklayers coming through schools and apprenticeships, work with the most up to date and commonly used products!

Chris Allott, Design Manager, Wincro: “I’m really enjoying the course, and gaining a better understanding of the bricklaying process. This will help the Wincro Tech Team and myself gain knowledge of the materials and building products used within our industry which I believe is very important when dealing with our customers.”

Nigel, Course Tutor, Kier: “Thanks to Wincro for supplying the product and it’s good to know that some of the companies out there appreciate the bricklaying vocation at the grass roots level”.
